DataFormat.Error: We couldn't convert to Number.

A Changed Type step hit a value that isn't a valid number under the current locale.

Why it happens

• Text like 'N/A', '-', or blanks in a column being typed to Number.
• Currency symbols, percent signs, or thousands separators.
• A decimal separator that doesn't match the query's locale.

How to fix it

1. Clean before typing: replace error/placeholder values, Text.Trim, and strip symbols.
2. Use Transform > Using Locale to type numbers/dates with the source's culture.
3. For messy sources, type as text then Number.FromText inside try ... otherwise null.
