The data type of column 'X' in the query doesn't match the data type in the model.
A refresh produced a value that doesn't fit the column's declared type in the model.
Why it happens
- Source schema drift — a column's type changed at the source.
- A text value appearing in a numeric or date column.
- A 'Changed Type' step removed or reordered so the final type differs from the model's.
How to fix it
- Fix the type in Power Query and make the Changed Type step robust to bad values.
- Handle errors explicitly (
try ... otherwise) rather than letting one row fail the refresh. - Align the source contract — validate types before load if the source is unstable.
