Can't determine relationships between the fields.

A visual mixes fields with no relationship path between their tables, or an ambiguous one.

Why it happens

• Two unrelated tables used in the same visual.
• A missing relationship, or one left inactive.
• An ambiguous model where more than one path connects the tables.

How to fix it

1. Connect the tables through a shared dimension, or a bridge table for many-to-many.
2. Activate the intended relationship; use USERELATIONSHIP in a measure for alternates.
3. Remove ambiguity — a star schema with conformed dimensions avoids this entirely.
