A circular dependency was detected.
Two or more calculated columns, measures or tables depend on each other, directly or through filter context.
Why it happens
- Calculated column A references B while B references A.
- A calculated column uses
CALCULATEor an aggregation over its own table and re-enters its own context. - A measure used inside a calculated column filters the same table the column belongs to.
How to fix it
- Break the loop — remove the mutual reference, or move the logic into a measure (measures don't create a physical dependency the same way).
- In calculated columns, avoid
CALCULATE/context transition over the same table. - Check relationships:
RELATEDchains can create a hidden dependency cycle.
